"Somewhere in the vaults of the bank of Cox and Co., at Charing Cross, there is a travel-worn and battered tin dispatch-box with my name, John H. Watson, M.D., painted upon the lid. It is crammed with papers, nearly all of which are records of cases to illustrate the curious problems which Mr. Sherlock Holmes has at various times to examine."

Sherlock Holmes vs. Dracula (1980)

This 1980 (?) paperback reprint of Loren D. Estleman's Holmes-Dracula crossover drops the secondary title, The Adventure of the Sanguinary Count, from the cover art.

HOLMES AMONG THE UNDEAD...
A mysterious schooner runs aground in an English harbor. Its cargo, fifty boxes of earth; its only living passenger; a black dog. The captain's lifeless body is lashed to the wheel––completely drained of blood. Soon, a rash of bizarre nocturnal crimes terrifies London. Plainly, this is the work of Count Dracula––and a case for Sherlock Holmes.
Lovers of the Holmes stories will find their hero in a new role here, as the avenger in a realm where pale corpses rise from their graves and go forth by night to feast on blood.

The Adventures of Moriarty (2015)

Thirty-seven short stories devoted to the man we love to hate, Professor James Moriarty.

We think of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, but far more seductive is the pairing of Holmes and Professor James Moriarty, 'the Napoleon of crime' - a rivalry unparalleled in the world of crime fiction. Fiercely intelligent and a relentless schemer, Moriarty is the super-villain as megastar.
This wonderfully diverse collection by writers such as Martin Edwards, Jürgen Ehlers, Barbara Nadel, L. C. Tyler, Michael Gregorio, Alison Joseph and Peter Guttridge reveals not just the evil side of Moriarty's personality, but his humanity, his motivations and his human failings. Some of the stories are humorous, some scary, but all are hugely entertaining.

The Solar Pons Companion (2017)

The seventh volume in DIPs "The Complete Adventures of Solar Pons" also contains essays by Basil Copper and the history of his involvement with "the Sherlock Holmes of Praed Street."

I am not writing new Solar Pons stories. My Solar Pons material was authorised and commissioned by Arkham House Publishers, Inc. back in the 1970s, and was written then but, owing to changes at Arkham House, they were never published by that imprint.
The tales remained in limbo for something like twenty years before the originals began to be published by Fedogan & Bremer of Minneapolis. All date from the 1970s and early 1980s so perhaps original copyright lines should have been printed together with the new publication dates which would have obviated all misunderstandings.
So, the present volume and all the Pons tales from my pen were commissioned and authorised by the then editorial and legal personnel at Arkham House and by the estate of the late August Derleth, who was a great friend of mine and very enthusiastic about my work.

The Case of the Russian Chessboard (2011)

Holmes and Watson uncover Russian intrigue.

Late on a foggy November afternoon, a desperate young woman arrives at Baker Street, imploring Sherlock Holmes to help her. She is terrified about what may be going on inside a secretive London refuge for Russian exiles, where her sister works.
Thus begins a frightening case which deeply strains both Holmes and Watson because of the dreadful consequences of failure and the mystifying nature of the forces against them. The case leads into strange territory. Into the circles of Victorian radicals and idealists, where early feminists and socialists rub shoulders with exiled foreign revolutionaries. To a utopian anarchist commune in Essex wilderness, which imitates the Tolstoy farm communes in Russia. Deep into the very dark political world from which so many Russian exiles have fled. The trail leads on - to one shocking discovery after another, as Holmes unravels a conspiracy as evil and twisted as a labyrinth in hell.
Narrated by Dr Watson, The Case of the Russian Chessboard respects Sherlock Holmes traditions and 1890s historical facts. Mingling mystery with gaslight, it offers a gripping, atmospheric and thought-provoking read.
