"Somewhere in the vaults of the bank of Cox and Co., at Charing Cross, there is a travel-worn and battered tin dispatch-box with my name, John H. Watson, M.D., painted upon the lid. It is crammed with papers, nearly all of which are records of cases to illustrate the curious problems which Mr. Sherlock Holmes has at various times to examine."

Harry Houdini & Sherlock Holmes: Auf den Spuren Houdinis (1908/2020)

The very first pairing of Sherlock Holmes and magician Harry Houdini was in a German short story called "Auf den Spuren Houdinis" (On The Trail Of Houdini). This new book from Houdini collector Arthur Moses includes the original German text as well as a never before published English translation.

After a performance in Berlin, Germany, Houdini is kidnapped by his lesser rivals. Sherlock Holmes is urgently summoned to Berlin to investigate. Through his masterful deductive reasoning he tracks down the dangerous perpetrators in the nick of time.
A recreation in its entirety of the German language pulp magazine series Aus den Geheimakten des Welt-Detektivs, featuring the 1908 issue number 101 "Auf den Spuren Houdini's" (On The Trail Of Houdini). Uniting Harry Houdini and Sherlock Holmes, formidable protagonists together, one being a fictional character and the other a living legend of history, is a masterful stroke synchronizing their uniquely charismatic identities. This text focuses on a single 1908 German language publication which brought them together, along with its never before published English translation in addition to later translated foreign language editions based upon the German work. Their two personas are as popular today as ever, with many modern pastiches, comic books and films successfully pairing Houdini and Holmes.
Other reprints of this title in other foreign languages are represented by reproducing their covers; France, Belgium, Denmark, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, and Spain.

The Necronomicon of Solar Pons (2020)

Solar Pons is back in nine new tales with a Lovecraftian flavor.

SOLAR PONS vs. the CTHULHU MYTHOS in NINE NEW ADVENTURES
August Derleth introduced the world to Solar Pons and Dr. Lyndon Parker in the 1920's. Pons, like Sherlock Holmes, solved crimes using deduction and ratiocination, often referring to Holmes as “The Master” or “My illustrious predecessor”. Since his first appearance, Pons has been a favorite with Sherlockians.
In the 1930's, Derleth coined the term "Cthulhu Mythos" to describe the weird fiction written by the writers in the Lovecraft circle. After Lovecraft died in 1937, Derleth created Arkham House Publishing to make certain Lovecraft and other writers of the Cthulhu mythos, himself included, remained in print. Derleth wrote a number of tales of the Cthulhu mythos including The Mask of Cthulhu, The Trail of Cthulhu, and The Watchers Out of Time (collaborating with Lovecraft).
Now, for the first time ever, the estate of August Derleth has authorized a one of a kind anthology combining Derleth's Solar Pons, the Sherlock Holmes of Praed Street, with his Cthulhu Mythos and horror tales. Join us in the foggy streets of early 20th Century London where horror is lurking on the streets and also at the veil of reality.

The story collection is written by professional writers such as David Marcum, Derrick Belanger, Elizabeth Varadan, Will Murray, Rob Nunn, Robert Perret, Peter Eckrich, Dick Gillman, Kieran Judge, and Derek Nason, as well as a variety of student writers. Plus an introduction by Shannon Carlisle, BSI.
The adventures in this collection had to adhere to Derrick Belanger’s “10 Rules for Writing a Sherlock Pastiche”. If you are looking for a fun, traditional collection of British mysteries then you will enjoy The Irregular Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.
The proceeds from this book will be donated to The Beacon Society, a Sherlock Holmes Scion Society which gives grants to teachers, libraries, and Sherlock Holmes organizations to help introduce students to Sherlock Holmes.
